Great Bay & Sound Scallop Search

Boat captains and snorkelers being recruited - This is a resource monitoring program where volunteers snorkel along set transect lines in lower Lemon Bay and Gasparilla Sound to count scallops and document the population trend.

Southwest Florida Regional Boating and Waterways Workshop

September 9-10, 2010

 

The Regional Workshop will examine innovative strategies to balance economic vitality with ecologically sound management practices along southwest Florida's waterways. The second day will consist of a facilitated discussion in the morning.

Florida Master Naturalist Program

The Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) is an adult education program developed by the University of Florida (UF) and provided by participating organizations. FMNP training will benefit persons interested in learning more about Florida’s environment, seeking educational contact hours, or wishing to increase their knowledge for use in education programs as volunteers, employees, and ecotourism guides. The program includes courses in three subject areas – Freshwater Wetlands, Coastal Systems and Upland Habitats.
