Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance Pesticide License 
January 14, 2010
9:00am-3:00pm

A Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance License Training will be held on January 14, 2010, from 9:00am until 3:00pm at the Charlotte County Extension Service, 25550 Harbor View Road, Port Charlotte. The Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance License is available for landscape maintenance personnel that would like to apply pesticides to their customers' properties. This license can be used for much more than the herbicide, Roundup®. Applicators are limited to products with "Caution" labels only, not "Warning" or "Danger" labels. Applications are limited to plant beds and shrubs, not turf. Application equipment is limited to backpacks and handheld pump-up sprayers; not powered equipment.

Each applicator must be licensed and may not supervise other applicators. Six hours of training, an application, and proof of insurance is required. See complete details for the http://flaes.org/pdf/lndspckt.pdf.

The Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance License Exam requires a passing grade 75%. This certification must be renewed annually with 4 Continuing Education Units CEUs.

The cost of this training is $25.00 which covers materials and lunch. Pre-registration is required by January 8th. CEU’s are also available. For more information, please contact Holly Shackelford 941.764.4352.
